A Great Sports Fan!
Sylvia was a great sports fan. She loved rooting on her family and friends in all types of activities, whether it be football, basketball, swimming, tennis, golf, or even bowling! She was there. We'll miss her smiling face and encouraging words!

Nanno was great about always having a little gift for her great grandchildren when they visited. It could be a little money, some books, some candy....this day it was JEANS for the boys! Owie got some too, but if I remember his were a little snug. I believe Olive got a little dress......that she wouldn't put on!!!

I have unbelievable memories from our Christmas Eve "made gift exchange" tradition and many of them include Nanno. She never stressed about her made gift, like the rest of us did, because the morning of Christmas Eve she would say "Janet, please go find one of my toll paintings out in the garage." The toll paintings that she had done 40 - 50 years ago. I always loved that she found that loop hole and wasn't afraid to use it!! I think she really enjoyed those evenings and being part of the party.

The Leather girls at Super bowl
One of the most memorable memories I will ever have of Nanno and Aunt Patsy and Uncle Eugene is one Super Bowl after we had moved into our new house on Country Club. It was after Super Bowl so it was a long day and the doorbell rang at about 7:00 pm. At the front door was Nanno and Uncle Eugene and Aunt Patsy. The most interesting thing about Nanno and Patsy was they were dressed in black leather. Pants, coats and shoes. Anyway they couldn't figure out how to get into mom and dad's to take Nanno home, since they were out of town, so we invite them in for a drink and talk and have a few more drinks. We finished the evening by driving the crew up to mom and dad's and putting Nanno to bed and waving goodbye to patsy and eugene off to jacksonville. Probably not the best idea but what can you do? We love them all and will never forget all the times.

Christmas 2009 -- Nanno and Nora
Nanno, we love you and will miss you so much. Your relationship with all of your grandchildren and great grand children was so special. Tonight we will curl all the kids hair by spitting on our fingers and rubbing them through their hair!!!
I knew I had a lot in common with my Grandma Nanno once I had the opportunity to play Bridge with her. The bottom line is that whenever we play a sport/game/event we both want to WIN!!! This became very evident when I was her partner playing Bridge and I made a move and she commented "what are you doing Teddy"? The great thing about the story is even with my novice play, we ended up winning and we were both so happy to be victorious.
There are so many other fond memories of Nanno and we will make sure we remember and share these wonderful stories with our family and friends and explain to them all what a wonderful lady she was. We love you Nanno.
